The International League of Religious Socialists

Have a look at the website of the International League of Religious Socialists. I must admit I didn't know this group. I'm trying to find out if they are still active. Also trying to find out if there is a french version.

Thanks for pointing out the International League of Religious Socialists. I am particularly interested in the UK affiliate: the Christian Socialist Movement. NOTE: "The CSM is proud to be affiliated to the Labour Party and engages fully with the party at all levels. Members are active locally in their CLPs (Constituency Labour Parties) and we send two delegates from CSM to the Labour Party’s Annual Conference each year."
VERY INTERESTING. Their website is definitely alive and up to date.

The ILRS recently held its 2009 congress in Cordoba, Spain, where they discussed a document entitled "After the Crisis: 10 Ways to Make a Better World." I could not find it on the internet, but it was summarized on the website of the Cristiano Sociali, a faction of the PD in Italy and member of ILRS. Roughly translated from Italian, the 10 points are:
(1) We affirm a global society;
(2) Globalization does not only mean a world market;
(3) We must deepen our understanding of the practice of democracy;
(4) To build a better world, we must look for sustainable development;
(5) The question of human rights must be central to the globalization agenda;
(6) The fight against poverty is inseperable from all other political goals;
(7) Multilateralism and peace must be the priority in all "conflicts in action(?)";
(8) The markets must be regulated to serve real human needs;
(9) People must have democratic control over their own resources; and
(10) A real global society is a tolerant society.
All great points. Cristiano Sociali publishes a regular newsletter which is available at their website, www.cristianosociali.it. (And I invite any Italian speaker to correct my translation above!). Thanks.
