A provisionnal committee

A small committee has been put together in order to set up this caucus, at least as we lead up to the Convention. For the time being, it is rather informal and is mostly composed of MPs and staff who are active around Parliament Hill. But eventually, we would like to have a larger group. Here is a list of the members of the temporary committee:

Charlie Angus, MP
Joe Comartin, MP, Chair
Paul Dewar, MP
Pierre Ducasse, Responsible for the website
Tony Martin, MP
Monia Mazigh
Bill Siksay, MP
Chris Duncanson-Hales

Steering committee | Pierre Ducasse

How can I be on this Committee? We should reach out to Christians of all denominations, Gnostic Christians, the MCC, Muslims (Tarek Fatah?), Buddhists, etc. We must have better respresentation from women of faith, and minorities representatives. Any gay priests? LOL. Seriously, consider who to invite for expansion.

For now, this is simply a small committee to get us to Convention. At Convention, we will get more names of people who want to be involved, and see what the next steps are. And we DO want braoder representation.

Excellent idea--and not a moment too soon. Would, at the very least, like to be kept on the mailing list.

Excellent idea. Keep me posted. (Not sure my first comment made it.)

Hi!
I have been on the hunt for this caucus/committee for a while (thank you Ravi Joshi!). I am part of Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist congregation's social action committee and would like to become more involved in this committee if anyone can tell me how.
I think it's so important for the religious left to revitalize right now - especially considering the state of doubt and disillusionment of the general electorate. We like to think that politics and religion are separate, but I believe even Jesus' teachings were at least partially politically motivated. He saught to bring hope in a brutally oppressive Roman empire, and freedom in a time of slavery...

In any case, PHP is a regular "faith motivated NDPer" haven. Newly elected MPP Cheri DiNovo is a United Church Minister, consituency officer and friend Gurjunh is a multi-faith rights activist (Sikh/United), and I am the PHP Youth rep (and an aspiring UU ministerial candidate). Please contact me with any news/details/materials.

Is Monia Mazigh still on the steering committee - and does she still oppose same-sex marriage?
